Method of working

How to get started with a new assignment differs from time to time. This is because of the nature of the work, the company or management style. Also, the company culture is of influence. But in one thing the method of working will always be the same: the practical approach, based on experience. Crystal clear communication lines enlarge the success of an assignment!

The method of working is to develop a solid plan of action. Pre-defined and pre-agreed goals form the basis for achieving the best result. Together with the client an ideal approach will be chosen which fits the company best. Questions are answered like:

  • What is the exact content of the project?
  • How much time is needed and what resources are at disposal?
  • What is the expectation of the outcome of the project?
  • Are the employers of the company cooperative to work on the requested change?
  • What is the current company culture?

The questions above should be taken into consideration while realising an assignment. Also, experiences of comparable projects are used to achieve the best result. At last, things like collective labour agreements, competition and  (social) values are taken in consideration in deciding how to create the best approach.

To put together a plan of action takes time and is depending on the scope of the requested results. Of course, the plan must be founded very well. However, this does not mean that it should end up in an encyclopedia with lots of theoretical models and - views. A method of working, based on practical experiences, will shorten time needed to start, lower costs and quicken realising results.
